"A Perfect Day for Banana Fish" is a short story by J.D. Salinger, originally published in the January 31, 1948 issue of The New Yorker and later featured in the anthology, 55 Short Stories from the New Yorker (1949), and in the Salinger collection, Nine Stories (1953). The story helped put Salinger on the literary map and is the first story to feature the character Seymour Glass, who appears in other works. This attractive production of the famous story was privately printed in a limited edition of only 20 copies.

Colophon states: "THIS BOOK was set by hand in the Times New Roman type and printed on handmade Fabriano paper using a Vandercook SP20 printing press. Bound by the Campbell-Logan Bindery, the book was printed in an edition of 20 copies, all of which were given away by the printer as gifts." Issued without a dust jacket.
