Signed Dust Jacket of Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said
Nicely matted & framed
Partial dust jacket for Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, consisting of the back panel and rear flap. Signed and dated (“4/9/74”) by Philip K. Dick beneath his photograph. On the rear flap, Dick has also written his address, phone number, and the book’s title and publisher. The jacket is folded in twelfths. Purchased directly from the bookseller who handled Tim Powers' personal collection. Powers, a fellow author, was a close friend of Dick.
Several aspects of this signed jacket are particularly noteworthy. The date places Dick’s signature just one month after the period he later referred to as “2-3-74” (February and March of 1974), when he experienced the visionary episodes that convinced him he was in contact with a divine intelligence. The address he wrote, 1405 Cameo Lane in Fullerton, California, is the home where those experiences took place. Dick would spend the rest of his life trying to understand and interpret their meaning.
New York: Doubleday, 1974. #10116.
Attractively matted & framed. Very good.
