Deus Irae
Deus Irae is a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel written by both Philip K. Dick and Roger Zelazny. This is a British Book Club edition published by the Reader's Union in 1978. It is technically the second U.K. hardcover edition after the Gollancz version.

Deus Irae is a collaborative science fiction novel written by Philip K. Dick and Roger Zelazny and published in 1976. The novel was based on Dick's short story "The Great C". Dick started the novel but apparently struggled with some of the religious concepts of the story and ultimately set it aside. Roger Zelazny later found the manuscript and read it, and he offered to help complete the story. The story takes place after a nuclear war has destroyed all that is familiar and given rise to a new messianic religion that worships the God of Wrath (the Deus Irae). The story follows an armless and legless artist, who is on a pilgrimage in search of the human form of the God of Wrath so that he can paint his mural. On his journey, he encounters the devastating effects of the great war, including mutant talking lizards, birds, and insects, as well as the "Big C", an artificial intelligence that survived the war and now consumes humans for sustenance. Bizarre post-apocalyptic fantasy with some religious and philosophical musings.
