A Life of Philip K. Dick - The Man Who Remembered the Future

First edition, 2013
A biography of Philip K. Dick by Anthony Peake, drawing on interviews with friends and two of Dick's former wives, including Anne Dick and Tessa B. Dick, as well as the correspondence and archival research of PKD scholar Nick Buchanan. Peake traces Dick's life from childhood through his death in 1982, with particular attention to the visionary experiences of 1974 and their relationship to his later fiction and the Exegesis. Peake's approach leans toward the paranormal as a framework for understanding Dick's experiences, which distinguishes his account from more strictly biographical treatments such as Lawrence Sutin's Divine Invasions.
