Williams draws on personal interviews conducted with Dick over several years, as well as letters and archival material, to offer an account of Dick's inner life and creative process that no other writer was positioned to give. Less a conventional biography than an extended portrait, it remains one of the most direct records of Dick's thinking as he expressed it in conversation.
