The Throne of Saturn

The Throne of Saturn is a collection of stories by S. (Sydney) Fowler Wright. It includes the contents of The New Gods Lead (1932) plus two stories, "The Temperature of Gehenna Sue" and "Original Sin," first collected in Wright's 1945 collection, The Witchfinder. Many of the stories are dystopian and attack trends that Wright disagreed with in his time like birth control and the motor car. The story "The Rat" is about a doctor who discovers an immortality serum. "P.N 40" depicts a repressive future controlled by a eugenics movement. "The Choice: An Allegory of Blood and Tears" is a satire on the Christian conception of Heaven.
