Tales from Underwood - A Collection of Fantastic Stories
First edition, 1952
Tales from Underwood is a collection of 23 stories by David H. Keller, a prolific contributor to the early pulp science fiction magazines from 1928 onward. Keller was a practicing psychiatrist whose experience treating shell-shock victims after World War I lent his fiction an unusually somber, grounded perspective on technology and civilization. Includes the first book appearance of "The Revolt of the Pedestrians" (1928), alongside stories ranging across science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
