Life Everlasting - And Other Tales of Science, Fantasy, and Horror

First edition, 1947
Life Everlasting is a 1947 collection of science fiction stories by American psychiatrist and pulp writer David H. Keller, edited and introduced by Sam Moskowitz with contributions by Will Sykora. The volume includes the title story “Life Everlasting,” which here makes its first book appearance; the story was originally published in two parts in Amazing Stories in July and August 1934.

In “Life Everlasting,” Dr. David MacBride discovers an experimental drug that grants immortality, triggering a cascade of moral and societal dilemmas. Keller’s narrative explores the psychological and speculative consequences of eternal life, examining themes such as the promise and peril of drastically extended lifespans. The story serves as a cautionary speculative examination of the human and social costs of conquering mortality.

First edition limited to 1,000 numbered copies; this copy is number 752. Includes the uncommon bibliography pamphlet issued with the book.
