I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon

First British edition, 1986
I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon collects ten previously uncollected stories and a major essay spanning nearly thirty years of Dick's career. The collection opens with "How to Build a Universe That Doesn't Fall Apart Two Days Later," a speech Dick delivered in 1978 that serves as one of his clearest statements on the nature of reality and the purpose of his fiction. The stories range from the early 1950s through 1980 and include "Rautavaara's Case" and the title story, which appeared in Playboy in December 1980 as "Frozen Journey." First published in the U.S. by Doubleday in 1985. This is the first British edition.
