Gone to Ground - The Sporting Decameron

Gone to Ground: The Sporting Decameron (1935) by T. H. White is the companion volume to Earth Stopped (1934), continuing in the same post-catastrophic Britain after a Communist-triggered war. A group of survivors shelter together in a bomb shelter and pass the time by telling stories, a structure White draws directly from Boccaccio's Decameron. The individual stories range in tone from comic to dark. First edition, first issue published by Collins, 1935. The first issue dust jacket has "7/6 net" price on the rear flap.
