Earth Stopped - or Mr. Marx's Sporting Tour

First edition, 1934
Earth Stopped; or, Mr. Marx's Sporting Tour (1934) by T. H. White is a comic dystopian novel set in a Britain devastated by a future war triggered by Communist revolution. White uses a cast of fox hunting country gentlemen as his central characters, not simply to satirize them but to observe how traditional English rural society, with its deep roots in land and ritual, responds to the collapse of everything around it. White was twenty-three when he wrote it and still years from the Arthurian novels that would make his reputation. First edition published by Collins, 1934.

Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. Octavo, bound in orange cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. London: Collins, 1934. #11219.
Book has slight lean and cloth is noticeably faded along spine and lower front cover, otherwise very good in a stunning nearly fine dust jacket with ends of both flaps roughly trimmed (uncertain if this was as issued or not).
