My Father's Life (1986) is a brief memoir in which Carver traces the shape of his father's life and the long shadow it cast over his own. Originally published in Esquire, it appears here in its first separate publication, illustrated with a woodcut by Gaylord Schanilec. Published by Babcock & Koontz, Derry, NH.
