My Father's Life

My Father's Life (1986) is a brief memoir in which Carver traces the shape of his father's life and the long shadow it cast over his own. Originally published in Esquire, it appears here in its first separate publication, illustrated with a woodcut by Gaylord Schanilec. Published by Babcock & Koontz, Derry, NH. One of 40 Roman numeral copies signed by Carver and the illustrator, of a total edition of 240. This is copy XXII. Original sewn Mouchette de Pombie wrappers with printed label on cover.
