Terraplane

Terraplane (1988) is the second Dryco novel, though it functions as a prequel, sending two characters back in time to 1939 Harlem through an experiment gone wrong. The collision between Womack's mutated near-future corporate dystopia and Depression-era New York produces something genuinely strange, and the novel is widely considered one of the more inventive entries in the sequence.
