Noor

Noor (2021) is set in near-future Nigeria where a woman named AO, heavily augmented with cybernetic enhancements from childhood medical necessity, becomes a fugitive after a violent incident in a Abuja market. Teaming up with DNA, a Fulani herdsman fleeing the destruction of his livelihood by the corporate entity Ultimate Corp, the two flee into the northern desert while being hunted. Okorafor uses their flight to examine corporate exploitation of African land and resources, anti-augmentation prejudice, and the collision between traditional ways of life and technological modernity.
