Farewell Horizontal

Farewell Horizontal (1989) is set inside a colossal miles-high structure called the Cylinder, whose inhabitants live on its interior horizontal levels or, for those willing to take the risk, on the exterior vertical surface. Ny Axxter works the wall as a freelance graphic artist, creating animated battle insignia for tribal factions who fight across the building's exterior. One of Jeter's more visually inventive works, though more science fiction adventure than dystopia proper.
